Chemel Ruiz and Pablo Trobo form 4th Foundation. Their career has been short but intense. In 2014, Chemel and Pablo released their first work, Nonsense EP, reaching number 1 on the label in only six months. Since then, they have published more than fifteen releases. The track “Dark Core” was selected by Fatima Hajji as Top 10 on Beatport in November 2016 and only a few months later in 2017, 4th Foundation participated for the first time in the electronic music category of the "Martin Códax Awards". Furthermore, since 2018 they have co-run the Galician label Valis Recordings, aiming to enhance the underground electronic scene in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula.
Their style can be described as the continuous pursuit of balance between light and darkness. The recipe consists in using ostinati in the melodic line, creating sharp and vivid progressions, naked rhythms without superfluous adornments, and dense infinite basses. Their goal is to create atmospheres that move between dancing emotion and mental introspection.
